Believe it or not, the world is shrinking. For clarification, the world is not physically shrinking, but instantaneous communication definitely makes the world seem like it can fit in the palm of your hand, just like how people now want same day delivery.

For those of you that are still confused, technology has made communicating with others around the world that much easier. Not only has this communication with friends and family members become more convenient, communicating with major retailers around the world has too.

That being said, we now live in a time where the internet or eCommerce industry has evolved to a point where consumers are able to order and receive packages the same day, also known as same-day delivery.

Major retailers and shipping companies such as Amazon and FedEx realize that their consumers would like to have their ordered goods as fast as possible. Therefore creating a same-day delivery option proved to be a very lucrative strategy that will not only increase revenue but also create more loyal customers in the process.

It is said that 88 percent of consumers are willing to pay extra for same-day delivery or faster shipping options.

Not only is this evidence that retailers are conforming to the wants and needs of their consumers, but this is also evidence that same-day delivery options can truly differentiate your business form the rest of the pack. In addition, businesses that have already incorporated same-day delivery options into their business model are already experiencing an increase in conversion rates, a decrease in returns, and a boost in the number of loyal customers.

So instead of waiting on your typical delivery man, in the near future, a delivery drone will be dropping off your products to your front door.

Overall,  our thirst for instant gratification is the catalyst for the advancements in technology and that technology continues to make our lives more convenient.

However, if you do decide to incorporate same-day delivery options for your business, you can expect to face some hurdles.
